The Irresistible Call of the Cheese Wheel & Only One Zamboni

I went to see Daya and her solo on stage again at Juilliard.
Janae came with me.

David and his girlfriend were also there, I had no idea! I was so nice of them to come see the show!

After the show, Janae and I had plans to go to the holiday market and just float around the city as we pleased.

We went over to the Columbus Circle holiday market.
We were both hungry.

Janae said, "Look, there's Cheese Wheel Pasta!"
I said, "Wow...!!!"

We both remained unsure if we really wanted Cheese Wheel Pasta, so we got spinach empanadas, which were amazing.

But The Call of the Cheese Wheel was too strong (it isn't stinky like the raclette cheese wheel in Bryant Park) and we had to do it.

It's a LOT of food, a 2-person portion which was perfect because there were 2 of us.
We found a bench in Central Park.

Fettuccini Alfredo is now forever ruined for me, this was the best I have ever had.

If you have access to cheese wheel pasta and are not allergic to cheese, DO IT.

*********
I said to Janae "we have to walk off this cheese."
So we walked east to 5th ave and down to the tree at Rockefeller.  It was SO CROWDED.

There is a new display on the Saks 5th Ave building.
It is really beautiful but has nothing to do with the holidays at all so that's perplexing....
It seems they have taken the holidays out of the holidays now.

We saw the tree and the zamboni cleaning the ice rink.

Since we weren't too far and we still had to walk off the cheese, we decided to go see what was happening at the market at Bryant Park.

Oh but it was just so crowded so someone (me) had the brilliant idea to walk a few blocks down in the subway, to at least get below Rockefeller Center.

So we did that.
We walked around a rat maze of tunnels, got back to the rink on the lower level right inside at the window, got lost, walked in circles, looked at the long line to the restroom and decided we didn't need to go after all, finally found a plausible exit, and discovered on street level we went down exactly one block.

What a genius idea.

The only other option was to walk through the dreaded crowd at Times Square (terrible but we survived) and we finally got to Bryant Park.

If you're going to do this, you just have to know what you're in for and roll with it and be relaxed.  Otherwise you'll go crazy. I hate crowds but if I have no time agenda, am not carrying much at all, and have a fun friend who can laugh through it, I'm ok once in a while. Being a local helps too, probably, because we can't get lost and we're not trying to absorb everything.

So we got to Bryant Park and I was really hoping to see a second zamboni but it wasn't out.

You can touch the tree at Bryant Park; it is a very friendly tree.

I liked this metal sea monster.
