Frozen Water & Focal points

We have a lot of snow but it is beautiful out!
Everything is still frozen at the wildlife refuge.

Today I was working with contrast and focal points.
It was fun.

Last week I got some brand-new Rosemary Ivories- they are so lovely to work with.

I always get lost at Juilliard.

Daya invited me to attend the Juilliard Dance workshops.
She danced one group dance last night, and a solo- from The Long Dark again!! tonight.

I love seeing the kids at Juilliard.
I love the focus and atmosphere.
Juilliard feels..... very unique.

I still get lost going from the elevator to the theater on the third floor.

So, this time I took the stairs but I still got lost.

Thankfully, Juilliard is tiny and also basically a circle so I got out eventually.

This is the inside of the big glass dance studio that faces the street.
It's all covered, I guess they don't want onlookers tonight.

Prosperity Salad

Tonight a bunch of boathouse people met for Lunar New Year dinner in Chinatown.
We went to a Malaysian place.

They serve a REALLY complex and AMAZING Prosperity Salad.

I was not really familiar with Prosperity Salad before tonight and wow, what a cool experience!

There is a whole ritual involved.
And even a lottery ticket!

What a fun and cool evening!

Nyonya is a good place to go, if you are in town.
They only take cash.

There were 12 of us, we ordered the LARGE prosperity salad, a bunch of appetizers and entrees and the bill only came out to about $30 per person!

I haven't been to Chinatown/ Little Italy for a while.

Time Sync & Blizzard

TIME SYNC, or lack thereof....

On Saturday when I was out preparing for the upcoming blizzard, I realized what the weird feeling I have been feeling for the last week or so is: I am out of sync with time.
Just slightly, but enough to feel it.

You see, I know for a fact with every fiber of my being that it is already March.
I know it is already March on a cellular level.

Um, except it isn't.

Yesterday in egg tempera class Valentina and I were talking about this, and she understood it completely.
She said she is also out of sync with time right now.

Then after class I went to the hotline and I was talking with H-- and she also is out of sync with time!

So, it's not just me.
I know an eclipse just happened and I normally don't pay attention to (or care) about stuff like that- and we also have Fire Horse Lunar New Year and in general there is a crazy amount of energy flying around.

I am actually still hibernating, but not as deeply as before.
It's still not time to fully wake up and emerge.
I am still in a bit of a holding pattern.

This past week I have had some wrinkles in my energy- I am in general feeling great, but a couple of energy pebbles hit me in the face.  Both are minor and not a big deal but I feel them more intensely I think because my mood is so good, the energy difference is much greater. Anyhow, everything is fine.
I have worked them out.

I feel like I am slowly coming out on the other side of a major internal transformation, and it dawned on me that last year (from November 2024) I have come through the end of a huge long-term life cycle.
Maybe 2. Whichever the case, energetically I am coming into a new chapter, a new phase of my life.
It's silent- all my external structures are in place, this is all internal shifting.

I LOVE SNOW!
I LOVE THE BLIZZARD!

Yesterday I left class and had a lot of time before the hotline, so I went for a nice 40ish block walk.

Kedrin said she wanted midnight snow pictures.
Since I was out in the blizzard at midnight coming home, I sent them.

COWS

WE ARE GETTING A BLIZZARD TOMORROW!

*********
Daya sent me a text earlier.
She has been obsessed with Cream of Wheat, and she ate the 2 boxes I just brought her (with the tuna) already.

She calls it COWS.

I did have to go out to the store before the storm, and I looked for COWS for Daya.

Daya hates pop-tarts, she has since forever, even when she was a little kid she hated pop-tarts.
We both think Cream of Wheat is much better and more important than pop-tarts.

We both know no one else agrees with us.

Frozen Wildlife Refuge

Today was a day off work so I went out painting.
It's nice to be going out again, and we got some more snow last night!

It was either the beach or the wildlife refuge- and since I went to the beach last time in the snow, I went to the refuge.

It's all snowy and frozen!
The water looks so cool!

I didn't go too far in, just my usual route by the water.
All my previous spots are snowy and everything looks so cool!
If we still have snow this weekend I'll probably go back on Saturday.

Here are some cool pictures of the snow.
