Egg Tempera and Cheeze Wheel Pasta Part 2

Janae and I needed cheeze wheel pasta again so I told her to come to egg tempera at the end of class.
Because the holiday market is right by the League.

We are still in holiday mode in class, so there was wine.

Here are some assorted pigment pictures:

This is not my set but I want to check it out......

This is my travel pigment set which I made, and my palette.

And the lovely wonderful cheeze wheel pasta!

This is a subway rat who did not get any cheeze wheel pasta....

And here is a random picture of Isis sleeping in a funny position.

Rat Pumpkin

Every year we have a pumpkin carving party at the boathouse.
I had egg tempera class but I skipped it to go.

I made a rat pumpkin.

Isis really doesn't like getting her antibiotics... but at least I know I can pill her.
I didn't think I could and it's a relief that I can.... even though it's nowhere as easy as the nightly Pebble-Pill.

Rebel & Rat Academy

I have an Oct 1st goal to get prints launched, and this means an absolute mountain of work.
I'm photographing a bunch of paintings today..... took out my old Canon Rebel...

The batteries are a bit swollen... Rebel might need to retire.  They don't even make the batteries anymore... so she's living on borrowed time.
It might be time to upgrade to a mirrorless camera..... but I'll think about that later.

So I'm photographing paintings.

Which means selecting paintings, taking them off the walls, un-framing them.... and then I'll have to re-frame them and put them all back up.

And I have to do all the image processing.

This is a stupid amount of work....

In opther news, I am joining the NYC Rat Pack, because I desperately need the t-shirt.

I went to Rat Academy tonight, and actually it was really, really good.
Even though I already know a lot about rats, I learned a lot!
I'm going on a Rat Walk on Oct 22.

Boston!

Today I got on Amtrak and went up to Boston to see Dru.
Tomorrow we are going to the Sargent show at the MFA, I'm so excited.

I haven't seen Dru for about 2 years and I'm so happy to be going up for a visit.

We had some really wonderful fog- look at the moon!

The rats were friendly.

Dixie knows she is beautiful.

Tomorrow: Sargent!!

What’s wrong with this sign?

This morning I woke up at stupid o’clock to go into the office at oh-god-thirty to attend a meeting in person.

It’s very early, in case you were wondering.

I don’t know if it’s because I was not awake yet, but there is something wrong with this sign.
Would they make such an error? Is the MTA time-travelling?

According to this link I guess they started October 2022.
I can’t recall having seen this sign posted before today.

In any case, it’s a very confusing thing for someone to process at 6:15am.

*********
In other news, I guess the price of eggs is coming down, because a couple weeks ago Costco was selling the 5 dozen packs for $18.99. (Way back when the 5 dozen used to be about $8.)

Thank goodness!!

Birthday Sushi and oil paint

Today is Kedrin’s birthday, and I went to Brooklyn to help her celebrate.

Kedrin likes to make sushi on her birthday.
Like, a LOT of sushi.
It’s her thing.

She is aware it is ridiculous.
She sent me home with leftover fish.

We also painted the cherry tree in the back.

The cat, KitKat, wanted to help but was not allowed.

Bree did help.

CPR at the Boathouse

Kayak season is fast-approaching, and the boathouse offers free CPR certification training.
I went, because my certification is expired.

It was a great class.
The CPR song is no longer Stayin’ Alive, it is Another One Bites the Dust.
Also, mouth-to-mouth is very de-emphasized these days, which is good because i won’t ever do it… and neither will the instructor, not even for his wife. He basically said don’t ever do it.

I learned new things that I hadn’t learned in previous classes.

This plaque is in a tiny park on Canal St…. 1805, cool!!
