The Thing I Love to Do that I Never Do

Today my friend Sharon's daughter was in the Ailey year end performance, so I went.

I LOVE the Ailey shows, they are superb. It's pre-professional training and the shows reflect that.  It's not the typical kids' dance recital.

I am on vacation all this upcoming week.

So after the Ailey show, I decided to do something I love but never do anymore- take myself out for sushi with plum wine and a good book. I used to do this a lot in my 20s, and here and there as the years rolled by.

However, these days I have basically been priced out of going out to eat.  

It's gotten too expensive except for special occasions and I can no longer justify it. 

And also my favorite places keep closing- and it JUST HAPPENED again!

(Yet another lease/rent increase casualty that took out an almost 50-year small business.)

So I found maybe another new spot but I might keep looking.

I enjoyed every second of my nice lunch.

Since I'm not going anywhere while I'm off work, it was good to do something nice for myself.
