Jesse's Deli, a neighborhood staple since 1983, is staring down a rent increase of about 150%, from $3,500 to $10,000, come July 1st. Pending some miracle, they'll have to give up their lease.
How could anyone keep up with rent increases like that?
It makes me ARTISANALLY ANGRY.
My dentist just left her practice here after they increased the rent for her office with 96% per cent in ONE year. What baffles me is how they can just do stuff like this and basically put people with their backs against the wall like that.
