1000 Cheese Wheel Pastas & Mostly Disappointing MoMA

Janae got a tattoo today and I went with her.
It was fun.

Afterwards, we went to get Cheese Wheel Pasta.
Oh it was so good.

The cheese wheel guy is almost at the end of the cheese wheel, and Sunday is the last day of the market.

I asked if he would have enough cheese wheel, and he said yes.
He also said one cheese wheel makes 1,000 dishes of pasta!

Until next year, Cheese Wheel!

Then we went to MoMA.
Janae wanted to see the mesmerizing AI wall.
It will melt your head.

I get in free (with a friend!) at MoMA with my AAM membership, which is a great thing because MoMA is now up to $30 admission!

The AI wall changed and is no longer the mind-numbing color forms in a box that will leave your head incapable of functioning but still wanting more.

It's now... I don't know what it is but it's not very interesting.

MoMA never fails to disappoint.

So we went up to the 5th floor to see some paintings.
There are a few good things up there.

MoMA's big attraction still is Starry Night, which doesn't belong there at all and is too old for the museum's stated intention.

Starry Night was at the Met recently for ... something, I guess it is back home at MoMA.
I bet it misses the Met.

Well, there are a few good things on the 5th floor.

This ... thing... is pretending the cracks were intentional, but we all know better.

I like museum memberships that get me (and others!) in for free.
My AAM membership was only renewed about three weeks ago and it has already more than paid for itself.

Until Next Time, Emo! (and 36lbs of cheese)

I know Dru's cat Emo has missed me very much over the past 2 years.
Today I had to say goodbye, but we will see each other again.

Dixie thought me a very poor substitute for Branwen.

Branwen is coming home today.
She is returning with 36lbs of cheese, which is absolutely fantastic.

She sent this picture of her Amazing Cheeze Suitcase:

Fashioned by Sargent

The Sargent show was SO CROWDED.

I have to remind myself how truly wonderful it is that people are showing up literally in masses to see paintings. It shows the power of art and that it is such a deeply intrinsically human thing to admire it.
And, Saregent's portraits command admiration.

I came very close to giving up on photographing the show because of the crowds, but I stuck it out and I'm glad I did.
