Thursday

I went to the office this morning, had a few meetings and got a few things done.
Then around 1pm I decided to GO HOME.... for 3 reasons:
  • Get home before storms
  • DO LAUNDRY
  • I'm a bit officed-out.

I really needed to get my bed clean, I have to do all of it and that's 4 loads of laundry.
I did get rained on walking home but it was ok.

Pebbles is a horrible cat.

Furball approves of my nice clean bed.

I made up Daya's bed in preparation for her return as well.
Her bed is also fully washed and clean.

Pebbles the Terrible

We were doing so well.
Pebbles has been doing very well with Daya being gone.

But I haven't been home much lately and I guess she freaked out and..........

..........yeah she peed on my bed today.

I AM NOT HAPPY.

Tuesday Sunset

In the office, I spent all day looking at our embayment from the window.
(It's below the building at the end of the pier in the middle.  That building cleans the exhaust out of the Holland Tunnel.)

Then I walked up to the boathouse after work.
It was a very popular kayaking night.

After the public program closed I watched the sunset from the water.

What is better than this?

I am so sore

Three and a half hours on the water Friday night plus lugging boats around yesterday has me so sore!

I'm staying home today and doing nothing!

But hey at least I'm getting exercise!

*******
I told Daya not to text me unless she has an emergency or problem in Chicago.
She thinks I'm upset with her but I'm not.

I just need a break from the DRAMA.  I need space to  just... be... and not have to deal with petty drama or her issues until she gets back.

Humidity Storm

I worked the boathouse on Governor's Island today.
I brought cheese.

It was supposed to storm but did not, the air just turned into a disgusting swamp.

**********
I am really enjoying this time "on-break" from Daya, and I hope she is having an amazing time in Chicago. Except she keeps texting me about things... issues, problems, that can wait until she gets home.

I came to the realization that I desperately NEED a break from all of it.
There's something in me that is so tired I feel like bone scraping against bone.
She's away and I'm still not getting that break.

I feel like I am not getting the chance to miss Daya, despite having only spoken to her... twice- once because I needed simple info that was like pulling teeth, and once for a 5 minute chat how-is-everything last Saturday.

I need space and a break from having to deal with every little thing one after another constantly.

Because I have this time to myself, I'm able to look at things a little differently.  Daya and I have never been apart this long.  Like, never. 5 days has been the maximum.

I do not think it is good for either one of us to have never had a break from each other.

I Went Out Places After All

I packed painting gear and went to Brooklyn Botanic.
And again I did not paint.

I maybe have forgotten how.  I don't know what's wrong with me.

But it was nice out and I relaxed for a while.

I walked barefoot in this wonderful grass, which I have done many times before and something bit me!!
It really stung and I could see a definite bite!

I have no idea what bit me and if I get poisoned and die then you know what happened.

The bite stopped stinging as much after about 15 minutes.
I thought that was a good sign.

Then I went to the boathouse.
I stayed on the water for 3 1/2 hours!!

I found this wonderful log!
It's big, it's heavy it's wood!
It's better than bad, it's good!

Ed and I tried to bring it in, but by the time we got a tow rope the log had floated  to where we could not get it.

We went on a trip to the dock at Christopher Street.

These people caught a HUGE FISH!
The guy in the red/pink clothing is holding it!
