Buster Keaton & Central Park Foliage &Tree Gifts

Kedrin signed us up to go to this monthly silent film screening at NY Public library of Performing Arts in Lincoln Center. It's called the Silent Clowns Film Series.   Ben Model plays the piano to the films. It is fantastic. It is also free, and a wonderful way to sped an afternoon.

Today we watched 2 Buster Keaton movies from around 1924.
I have seen bits and pieces of Keaton's work but never a full-feature.
It's actually a lot funnier than a lot of today's comedy.
The physical acrobatics are amazing.

Afterwards, Kedrin and I went for a nice walk in Central Park.
The fall foliage is coming out.

Local wildlife:

Walking east-ish towards Bethesda Fountain...

This is right by Bethesda Fountain (facing away from it) going towards the bandstand at the mall.
We stopped to admire the flowers.

Balto.

Since we visited Balto, we decided to also visit the cat. This cat has been on my painting list for many months.

Cedar Hill

I introduced Kedrin to my favorite tree in The Ramble, which is also right near Cedar Hill and the cat.
Someone had a wedding by the tree.
They left artificial rose petals on the ground and an artificial white rose under the tree.

Because these "flowers" are basically made of plastic-y stuff, this is bad and thoughtless littering.
Yes the parks people will clean it up but still, it does amount to trash.
If it was real flowers that's another matter.

So the tree gave me the white rose and now it lives in my studio.
