I LOVE the paddleboard.
It is my new favorite thing EVER.
I love it much more with a kayak paddle.
It is like riding directly on the surface of the water.
In shallow water, it also serves as a perfect floating bench.
I LOVE the paddleboard.
This morning I slept late-- I have been sleeping really well here-- and I took the paddleboard out while Kedrin emptied the dog and puttered around.
Today we leave, and originally we were aiming to leave around three-ish but it ended up being later because we couldn't get off the water, it was too nice.
I paddled to the other side of the lake and found a second cove!!
In this second cove, the lilypads were flowering!
Of course I had to call Kedrin so she could come over.
What is better than this????
In case I haven't said it yet, I LOVE the paddleboard.
It is my favorite thing.
It is my favorite thing.
Poison ivy!!
I did manage to get the teeniest rash of poison ivy (from exploring the mini firepit area over here).
I haven't had poison ivy since I was a kid and that teeny patch was the worst itchy-burn EVER. Weirdly, I didn't feel it at all until over an hour later when I was out of the water.
Either that or I brushed against it in a different area much later, but I don't think so.
I did last-minute pack my cortizone in case of bug bites, and it works instantly on poison ivy too. As in it completely went away within 10 minutes!! miracle stuff. Always bring your cortizone when going anywhere rural!
Ugh stupid finger-in-the-way!
It was so bright and hard to see in the sun. Oh well.
I put my phone underwater to take these pictures, just because it was fun.
The family who owns the lake house seem like really great people.
Kedrin thinks they are, so they must be.
I thought their whiteboard was cute.
They love their animals.
Bitz texted us pictures of a scary bug on her screen.
I texted her pictures of cute non-scary bugs on our screen.
Then it was time to leave.
On the way out we did stop on the road to take some photos.
I took some cloud pictures.
We made it back in 2 1/2 hours, which is significantly better than 5 hours.
Half of the GW bridge lights were out.
We decided that was the side New Jersey is responsible for.
