Cactus Monday One-and-a-Half Edition

Daya wanted to go to the zoo, so I took her. My yearly membership to the Wildlife Conservation Society more than paid for itself in the first 2 1/2 months. It's great.

And this time, we found a cactus at the Bronx Zoo:

The peacocks were running around everywhere. Daya and I both tried to catch them. Neither of us was successful.

So we rode the Bug Carousel instead.

Here's the One-Half part of this Cactus Monday: I started painting the Stape G Faerie!

Starting this week, I will not be on the computer at home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'll be on at work though. This is my attempt to curb the hours spent on the puter and give myself time to do other things- mainly reading and art.

  1. A very good New Years Resolution Jess. I am sure Daya will appreciate it too. There are so few hours in a day especially when working and child rearing. Your forays to the Zoo sound like so much fun. I can just see you trying to catch a peacock. Not going to happen. Aren't they just so elegant?... Happy Cactus Monday.

Your watercolour painting is looking fabulous!

I understand about you needing time for yourself to read and create. I spend way too much time on the computer too.

I think your resolve to stay off the computer the two nights a week is a great one...especially since you have a little one. I need to follow your lead!

  10. Love this peacock. I have also started my Artist Journal this year and it is fun, I think it will keep me going. It is said in India that any day is a good day for doing right things so I agree with you on that.
